Breakthrough Magnet School

Applications Now Available for 2011-2012
Breakthrough Magnet School, an inter-district magnet school, is accepting applications for enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year. Breakthrough is a Pre-K (3 year olds) through 8th grade school located at 290 Brookfield Street in Hartford, accepting students from most towns in the Greater Hartford area. TUITION IS FREE FOR ALL, including our 3 year old pre-school.
Highlights of the program include: Character Education theme, Small class size (18-22), State of the art building in its 5th year of occupancy, technology rich, Interdisciplinary curriculum that celebrates the rich international and ethnic diversity (24 countries now represented) of the student body, Classroom Kitchens, Patio Gardening, Spanish as a second language (gr. K-8), Teaching to the whole child with an inter-disciplinary approach in a multiage setting, and Visual and musical arts.
An Open House will be held Feb 8th, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Applications are available at www.magneteducation.org. Deadline for applications is Feb 11, 2011. Visitor’s Days occur every Friday from 8:15-10:15 a.m. Please call for an appointment (860) 695-5700.
