The varsity boys football team won its first official home game of the season 36-6 against the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, a Hartford magnet school. That is the second win for Avon, increasing its record to 2-1. Avon takes on Canton Thursday at Avon High School on Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.
