Were You In On the 2013 Avon High School Senior Prank?

People who weren't got a surprised when looking for parking last Thursday.

There was no field hockey game at Avon High School last Thursday, but the field was packed nonetheless.

For this year's senior prank, the Class of 2013 blocked off the back parking lot with cars, "causing all students and teachers not in on it to park on the field hockey field," Avon High School junior Eric Welles wrote to Avon Patch in a direct message on Twitter.

"They didn't block the circle so kids could get dropped off, but traffic was reportedly backed up past scoville on one end, and well past ams," Welles tweeted to Patch.

Welles said he knew about the prank the day before, so he "walked from Carmon funeral home to avoid traffic."

A video posted by YouTube user Andrew Jefferis on YouTube showed highlights of the senior prank. The video showed students and some faculty directing traffic to parking spaces on the field, as well as at least one Avon police officer on scene. Meanwhile, in the empty parking lot, students played games and hung out with their classmates.

"It was a job well done!" Avon senior Michael Starr, the Class of 2013 salutatorian, commented on the Avon Patch Facebook page

Interim Avon High School Principal John Sullivan could not be reached for comment about the senior prank.
