After Sweeping Granby, Avon Prepares to Face First-Year Suffield Team

Avon's record is now 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the NCCC.

Avon High's 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) against Granby Memorial Wednesday improves the varsity volleyball team's record to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the NCCC.

In the home game, senior Mary Pearce was crucial to setting up scoring opportunities, recording 16 assists and scoring herself on two aces. Junior Ariel Lepito (seven kills, five digs) and senior Amanda Savarese (five aces, 11 digs) also had standout performances. 

Avon's next game is away on Thursday and the squad will play Suffield. This is the first year Suffield has had a volleyball program. The first serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
