Teaching 'Mayne' Football Skills to Unified Sports Athletes

ESPN's Kenny Mayne, an Avon resident, ran a football clinic July 9 for Unified Sports participants from Avon, Farmington, New Britain and Guilford.

As his swan song in preparation to move from Avon back home to Seattle, ESPN sports journalist and humorist Kenny Mayne ran a football clinic at Avon High School on July 9. Unified Sports athletes, with and without disabilities, from Avon, Farmington, New Britain and Guilford participated. Some of Mayne's friends and coworkers were there to help out, as well as representatives from the CIAC/Special Olympics Connecticut Unified Sports program. Mayne has volunteered for Special Olympics and Unified Sports. The Meat House catered the event. The participants received medals and fan swag from NFL teams.
