Severe Weather Heading To Connecticut Today

Thunderstorms and heavy downpours heading to Connecticut.

It may look bright and sunny where you are right now but this is expected to change quickly as the day goes on.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for Litchfield, Fairfield, Hartford, New Haven, Tolland and Windham counties, WFSB 3 television reports.

But a flash flood watch is in effect until midnight for Hartford and Tolland counties. Thunderstorms are likely and could produce heavy downpours between 2-4 inches of rain, WTNH News 8 reports.

This is all in advance of Hurricane Arthur, which may end up affecting Connecticut on Friday with rain showers and possible thunderstorms.

But the silver lining is the weekend looks nice and sunny!
