Avon-Canton VFWs Distributing Poppies to Support Vets
The poppy drive will be held at the Avon Wal-mart, Stop & Shop and ShopRite, as well as the Canton Dunkin' Donuts until May 26.
Come join the Avon and Canton VFWs, and support local veterans at this year's poppy drive.
Veterans will be distributing poppies at the Avon Wal-mart, Stop & Shop and ShopRite, as well as the Canton Dunkin' Donuts until May 26, according to a release in an Avon Community News bulletin.
Last year, the VFWs raised $22,500 during the 10-day event, according to the release. All of the profits will benefit charities that distribute at least 80 percent of their proceeds to veterans, the release added.
