Scouts Send 9,000 Lbs. of Food to Farmington Food Pantry

A community came together and now, the nearly empty shelves at the Farmington Food Pantry are filled. But it can still use your help!

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from Avon and Farmington came together to help stock the shelves at the Farmington Food Pantry

"Cub Scout Packs 37, 68, and 170; Boy Scout Troops 68 and 170, collaborated with Farmington's Girl Scouts on Saturday in their annual Scouting For Food Drive," William Benson said in this announcement on Patch.

Flyers were attached to 8,000 bags and delivered to Farmington households, Benson wrote. The community generously donated food items and the Scouts delivered 9,141 lbs. of food to the Farmington Food Pantry on Saturday, Nov. 9.

"The pantry distributes 1,500 pounds or more of food each week to those in need," Benson said.
