Take the Gym Outside!

Exercise Outside, A Great Option!

Going to the gym can be great for many people, but during the summer why not get a great workout outside!

For all the parents out there with kids at home for the summer this is a great option. Find a local park or school for some great work out equipment. Plus, you can take the kids along-they love to exercise with their mom or dad and they will learn good habits all at the same time. Go running/walking on a track, play ball, find a hiking trail, use playground equipment!

Have you ever noticed kids who play outside and who are active are slender and physically fit? They are in constant movement, their moves are not static. They twist and turn incorporating all their muscles at once, forcing their bodies to find balance. My suggestion, mimic this! A few suggestions includes burpees, lunges, planks (these can be done anytime and anywhere).

This weekend I went to a nearby college, used their track (walk, jog, run, sprint), used the monkey bars on a playground and then used some steps for some push-ups! It felt great!

No excuses, go outside with the kids and have fun. Added bonus, you get a little exercise in all at the same time!
