Stonewall Kitchen was founded by Jonathan King and Jim Stott, in 1991. The first products, sold at a local farmers market, were homemade jams and vinegars. In 1995, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade awarded Stonewall with the distinction of Outstanding Product Line. Stonewall consists of a chain of eight stores offering jams, grill sauces, mustards, chutneys, pancake mixes and dessert sauces. In addition, it offers kitchen tools, placesettings, home decor items and the Barefoot Contessa Pantry line.
