Avon Factory to Hire 10 More Workers by Year's End

ORAFOL Americas currently has 152 workers at its Avon factory, which produces reflective material.

ORAFOL Americas will be increasing its work force by 10 employees by the time 2014 rolls around, according to a blog posted on the Hartford Courant.

The former Reflexite factory in Avon currently has a staff of 152 employees. The German company that bought the factory several years ago is in the midst of an expansion that will eventually add 125,000 square feet to the Avon location, the Courant blog said.

ORAFOL Americas CEO Randall Mertz is quoted in the blog post:

“Avon and Connecticut offer a supportive community, a strong local infrastructure, and an outstanding supply of highly skilled and talented employees," he said. "Our continued growth, including expanding our facilities, adding new equipment, and adding new jobs demonstrates our commitment to doing business in the state.”

The factory creates reflective materials for road signs, clothing and adhesives.
