25th Anniversary Heublein Tower Toot, October 19 & 20, 2013

The 25th Annual Heublein Tower Toot will be Saturday and Sunday, October 19 & 20,  2013, from 10 am - 5 pm. (There is no rain date.) All are invited for this event during the Farmington Valley’s spectacular fall foliage.

The way to the Tower is to walk up the Talcott Mountain State Park Trail (about 1 1/2 miles). From the Tower’s observation room there is a 360-degree view of the Farmington Valley, Connecticut Valley, Hartford, and West Hartford.

Free tours of the Heublein Tower, built in 1914, will be offered. Food for sale includes Bratwurst, hotdogs, hamburgers, beverages and snacks. German music on Saturday and Sunday will be by Scha Musi, with musicians Ron Kwas & Freddi Meier. Children of all ages will enjoy meeting Smokey the Bear and having their faces painted. The gift shop will be open. All events are free, but donations will be accepted.

The Heublein Tower was the summer home of Gilbert F. Heublein, a German-born Hartford hotelier and restaurateur, and an innovator in the American gourmet food and liquor industry. The Tower is located in Talcott Mountain State Park, a 500-acre park in Avon, Bloomfield and Simsbury.

All proceeds benefit The Friends of Heublein Tower, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving Heublein Tower. Parking is available at the paved parking lot off Route 185 in Bloomfield. Those who can not attend the Tower Toot may keep in mind that the Heublein Tower is open daily (through the end of October) , seven days a week, from 9 am - 5 pm. The Tower will then reopen next Spring.
